4th of july celebrations!

omg... 4th of july is such a fun day here!

the nite of the 3rd, there was kinda a little party at mike's (michael murray-a food service manager) house. i was closing, which meant that i got out at like 1am! but trina (the ever nice girl)and valente came back to pick me up and take me there. it was pretty cool. they are cool people to hang out with. mike's house is really pretty too! he and his neighbours share a little bar place which is really comfy, and it such a nice place just to hang around in. we sat there drinking and talking. Actually something kinda weird happened... I sat in one of the armchairs that he had, and propped up my feet on the other chair. Valente sat down on the other and put my feet on his lap... and started rubbing my feet. haha... or maybe it's just normal.

then on the 4th itself, i was closing again... but i got to see all the fireworks!!!! omg... they're so pretty! it's so different from what we have in singapore. these fireworks are not BIG ones like national day, or company sponsored like CNY ones, but they are set off by ordinary people. so... there were tons of them! and they went on and on forever. there were little ones, swirly ones, ziq-zag ones, and BIG starburst ones! i think it must have gone on for at least 1hr. so pretty so pretty...
oh and then after that... one of my colleagues told me that fireworks are illegal in california. (right.) well... it's a useless law, cos everyone was setting off fireworks!

that night... i only got home at 2.15. omg... it was so busy!!!! heez but really fun.

yesterday was a busy day too! cos it's kinda a public holiday. it's not an official one, but cos 4th of july fell on a sunday, so, many businesses and financial institutions were closed on monday. the boardwalk was super busy! valente was really crappy yesterday... omg... cos today i was telling him that we were going to a club cos my friend is leaving soon, so it's kinda like a send off party. and he goes "so can i come too?" and of course i say yes. he asks " can i be your date?" then i'm like "no... i cannot date my colleagues... it's not good work ethics!" k this makes him subside for a while, THEN he asks again, whether he can be my date! i'm like no.... then i think about it... hmmm there might be a cover charge... if there is... and he's my date... he can pay for me! so i tell him that. and he says "well, that depends, will you put out?" (for those that don't know, put out means like have sex) i was like of course NOT! i'm a good girl. and he's like "yah, i'm a good boy too!" (yah right.)

neway he was just kidding around... he's the crappiest guy on the face of this earth. but pretty decent. i trust him.

omg we had such stupid customers yesterday too! let me give u an example of one. this indian lady comes up. she asks for 1 cup of tea, but she wants 3 tea bags in it. i tell her that we'll have to charge her for 3 cups of tea if she wants 3 tea bags. (makes sense right? since the water and the cup costs practically nothing) she's like no no no... she only wants 1 cup of tea and 3 tea bags. i repeat what i just said, which is that 3 tea bags=3 cups of tea. she's like no no not 3 cups, 3 tea bags. i repeat what i said again. i think i must have said it 5 times. then she says ok. so we charge her for 3 cups, which is like 5.40. and she's like "why is it so expensive? i only want a 1.80 cup of tea!" i repeat again for the 10 millionth time that 3 tea bags= 3 cups of tea. then she says "oh then i don't want it." DUH! can anyone be more stupid?? maybe she's just trying to take advantage. but it was just stupid... bah.

yeahz... neway i don't know i the results of the lead thing yet... claudia refuses to tell me anything. trina says it's good news for me... but unless claudia speaks... it's nothing. ahhh.... more waiting... hope they raise my pay in time for this paycheck... heh heh.
