i got it!

YAY YAY YAY!!!! i got promoted to lead! thanx everyone who prayed... :) neway now i got a pay increase... which is a good thing! neway my "competition" was this guy, brandon, who has worked there for around 2 years, and he knows more stuff than me, it's just that he's quite lazy, and none of the leads have a good impression of him... neway, the day that i was told, he was called into the office by everard too. the rest of the day, he was in a very very bad mood! oops... not really my fault tho... neway i hope he's gotten over it by now... else it'll be very hard working with him!

then on the same day, i was working with these 2 guys, brandon and david. there was another new girl who wasn't very familiar with the drinks training. THEN, after this girl comes back from break, brandon and david both need another break. i told one of them to go, and turned around to serve a customer. the next time i turned around, both of them were gone! leaving me alone with the new girl. AND there was a mini rush of orders during the time they were gone. and the new girl was not very fast! BAH. i mean i dunno if they did it on purpose, but it was so irritating. maybe they were just trying to challenge my authority. but it was irritating. AHHHHH.

this week looks like it's gonna be an interesting week. on wed me and samantha will be going to have japanese food at takara (some japanese restaurant near by) the best thing is... jeff (our housing manager) wants to come along too! so he'll prob be driving us. wahahahaha

yesterday, angel asked if i have been hanging out with locals alot... i guess i have been... much more than i've been hanging out with the other work-and-travel people from other countries at least. cos there's a group of us singaporeans, we gather together and talk a lot of the time. but for me, i came here to make friends from here too (mainly cos they have cars... wahahahaha). and in a way, i think i've been pretty successful! i mean, trina is such a nice girl, i love hanging out with her, and she never makes me feel as if i'm imposing. yeahz. now i think the thing for me is to try and get to know other people from other countries, not just americans. maybe i should go downstairs and hang out more often... but it's cold there! brrrrr....

yeah some of the people i know don't seem to wanna make friends with other people... so that's pretty sad... i think that defeats the point of us being here.

oh well... today is my 1st day officially that i'm lead! i'm gonna have to find a balance between recognising that i don't know the most stuff and being a leader just the same.

yup yup! i'm gonna be the best lead i can!
