what an exciting day!

wheeeeee! yesterday was one of the most fun off days i've had in a long long time! ok neway... the day started out with this guy inviting me me to go salsa dancing (at like 3am in the morning). and i agreed, if my friend could come along too. k so rachel agreed to come, and we made plans to go salsa dancing at night.

at 11 am, i get a call from the food service office. the one in charge of admin tells me that everard (director of food services) forgot to set a time with me, and so i'm supposed to call him, and gives me everard's home number. (oh the background to this is that everard asked me before whether i miss asian food, and of course i said yes. and he was like oh one of these days i'll take u out to lunch to eat curry. and then we kinda agreed on friday but did not set a time) k so i call, and we set a time, and he tells me to ask the rest whether they are free too. so since i know that it's rachel's day off too, i ask her along. kelvin was off too, but we couldnt find him. so everard took us to lunch at this sri lankan restaurant. chicken curry, vegetable curry.... WOOOOOO... it was so good! and at the end of the meal, we had sri lankan tea, which was like singapore kopi tiam teh. sigh. it reminded me so much of home! i think that since he's asian (1/2 sri lankan, 1/2 malaysian) and his wife is asian ( 1/2 cambodian, 1/2 thai), he kinda has a soft spot for us. i think we are the 1st batch of asian students that have come here. yep... so we're pretty lucky!

after that fulfilling lunch, me and rachel walked along the boardwalk and went to visit with my friend working at the merchandise shops. we were there to place our orders cos she gets like 70% off everything she buys!! whee... good for souveneirs. we go walk over to the espresso cart to talk to valente (one of my colleagues). we wanted to find out if the guy that is taking us out tonight is trustworthy. as we're doing that, we bump into alex and his friend juan. they want to go for a cruise around downtown in his car, so they ask us if we wanna go along. we go and it was SO FUN! 1stly, his car is a convertible, 2ndly, his sound system is awesome! so it happened just like the movies. we put the top down, the music was blasting... and we just took a drive around downtown. FUN FUN FUN! hahaz... they're not cute though, and they're just 18... i'm hanging out with lotsa kids these days! still had alot of fun!

after talking to valente, we discovered that he didn't really know that guy, and he doesn't have a very good impression of that guy. k... me and rachel still decided to go... but we had a back up plan! we got trina to come and pick us up at 12...

this guy came at 10, we went to one of his friend's house to drink 1st. the friend was house sitting for his boss, and the house was beautiful! really beautiful. and he had to look after the boss's cat too! it was a really beautiful persian cat. so pretty.

then after that we went to the club. it's full of mexican people. we tried to learn salsa, he and his friend tried to teach us. not very successfully. hahaz. oh well u know me... i've got 2 left feet! i can't keep to the beat very well! imagine me trying to dance salsa! hahaz... it was fun tho. i can do the basic steps. i can't spin very well. haha. then the music changed to spanish house music. k. i can dance to that kind of music. don't like it very much though... but at least i don't have to worry about where my feet are going. haha. that guy was a little too grabby for my liking... i don't like him. he wants to see me again... but i'm pretty sure that i'm never going to go out with him AGAIN. he's not even cute! bleargh.

then at 12.15 or so, trina picked us up. she took us to her old house to smoke hookah (before u guys kill me, it's not addictive or harmful. it's an arabic fruit gum thing that u smoke thru a water pipe. some people even say that it's healthy. i did it before in singapore before, just that it's called shishah). she was living with a couple of people, and there were 3 guys. one of them was gay, and he was the cutest! oh this life is unfair... he was the most friendly too. or rather he was the only one awake to talk to us. the other 2 were passed out on the couch. haha. then she took us to her new house, which was a major mess cos she just moved in. where we ate some pizza, and then she took us home.

i got home at around 2.30am, and there was a party going on in the apartment just below! they were all gathered in the stairwell smoking and drinking! omg... it was SO SMELLY! and they were really loud too! bah. and i had to pass by there to get back home. disgusting.

and i went to sleep, the noise doesn't even bother me anymore! hehe. what a change from the time i 1st got here and was complaining all about the noise.

so that was my exciting day. whee!
